Excel 2016 won't load, hangs on Solver.XLAM
No matter what I do I can only use Excel in safe mode. When loading Excel it stops loading at Loading Solver.xlam. I've searched the registry and found that there was an old version installed in Programs (x86) and the solver.xlam and dll files were there. I copied them from the other directory in the route I found in the registry, that didn't work. Next I tried to install Solver trial and that now loads a Solver.xla not xlam. So that hasn't helped either.
How can I remove Solver all together? Seems like there is a service that needs to run or something but I can't find anything missing that would prevent it from running. Do I need to register the DLL file somewhere that I copied over? What?
Please help.

Hi Wayne,
Sorry for the delay in response, but it looks like we've already been in communication via a support ticket.
Note that Microsoft owns the Solver add-in (loaded with Solver.xlam and shipped with Excel installations) and any issues with the Solver.xlam should be reported to Microsoft.
